The Obscurecast Ep 10: Pewter Ponders

Stu is still on holiday in Orlando, so I’ve been very kindly joined by Pewter from The ‘mental Shaman. It’s a bumper packed 2 hour episode this week as we’ve got a ton more to talk about (plus we veer off topic a lot).

In the episode this week we have:

  • New Beta Build – further spell and talent changes
  • Icecrown Citadel buff now at 30%
  • Guild Levelling and Guild Perks
  • Twitter Dev Chat & RealID Updates
  • MMO-Champion Bought by Curse

The second hour of the show we spend discussing Pewter, the focus of her blog and some of the subjects close to her. Topics like videogaming with disabilities, what geek feminism actually means and even Computer Engineer Barbie get covered.

We’ve also added some discreet advertising to the site in an effort to help contribute to the cost of producing the show. If you like what we do and want to help, you can also donate to our “Coffee Cache” through the button on the site.

Intro music was  Decimal Places by I Concur.

Thanks for listening!

Shamans will continue to be one of the most underplayed classes in the game, and elemental represents only a third of that so it’s amazing we got any questions answered in dev chat!

Also, they chose to address questions (in general) on stuff google could have answered so while the idea of a dev chat is a good start, nothing really came out of it. I think a future one could be more productive now the player-base has seen how it works.

Personally, i think it would work much better if they implemented a system similar to EpicAdvice. That way, all the good questions would float to the top. Maybe this will happen with the new forum changes proposed for Cataclysm.

    Hey Shaemus,
Great podcast! I hope you enjoyed your first raid last night downing the login Dragon! Am listening through the back catalogue at the moment also, do you talk about PVP?

We talk a little about PVP. It’s mainly how I used to rock in vanilla and how I’m crap at it these days. Definitely something we want to do in detail though – each show tends to be a bit of a mixed bag, with a different topic each week :)
